Pre-Owned Phones
Pre-Owned vs Renewed iPhones: What's the Difference?
Both pre-owned and renewed iPhones cost less than a new one, but they are not the same thing, and the difference changes what you should check before you buy. This is how the two work in our shop.
Pre-owned: one specific phone
A pre-owned listing is one physical phone that is in stock. It is inspected and given a grade from A+ (excellent, near-new) down to C (noticeable cosmetic wear, fully functional), and the battery health, storage and price on the page are for that unit. Two phones of the same model can differ in grade and battery health, which is why the price can differ too.
Renewed: a restored phone, sold by model and storage
A renewed listing is a phone that has been professionally restored to like-new condition, fully tested and repackaged. It is sold by model and storage rather than as one individual unit, so you choose the colour and we confirm the exact phone and its availability with you before you pay. The photos show the model and the colours on offer, not the exact phone.
Which one suits you
If the lowest price matters most and a little cosmetic wear does not bother you, a pre-owned phone with a good battery health figure is usually the better value. If you want a phone that looks and behaves like a new one and are happy to order it, a renewed phone is the closer match. Neither is better in every case.
What to check on either
Look at the battery health figure rather than a general description of condition, check the network status shown on the listing, and read the warranty that comes with it. Pre-owned phones from us carry a 6-month warranty, and the warranty for each listing is shown on its page. Warranty does not cover damage caused by customer negligence after the device is returned.
