Screen Repair
Cracked Screen? Here's What Actually Happens During a Repair
A cracked screen is the single most common repair we see in Vereeniging, Gauteng - dropped on a tiled floor, sat on, caught the wrong way in a bag. Most of the time the phone still works fine underneath; it's just the glass and display that need replacing. Here's what that actually involves.
Diagnosis before anything gets opened
Before a screen comes off, we check that the crack is the only issue. A hard enough drop can also affect the digitiser (the layer that reads your touch), the display cable, or - in worse cases - internal components. That diagnosis is free if you go ahead with the repair; if you decide not to proceed, a diagnostic fee applies. Either way, you're told what's actually wrong before we touch anything, not after.
Genuine parts vs OEM-grade parts
We use genuine Apple parts for Apple devices. For other brands, we use high-quality OEM-grade parts when an original part isn't available. The distinction matters for touch accuracy, colour reproduction and long-term durability - a poor-quality aftermarket screen is the main reason "cheap" screen repairs go wrong. We'll tell you which category your repair falls into before you commit to it, not after.
Testing before you get it back
Once the new screen is fitted, we test touch response across the full surface, brightness, colour accuracy, and that the front camera/sensors (which usually sit under the same assembly) still work correctly. Nothing goes back to a customer until it's passed that check.
What's covered afterwards
Every screen replacement carries a 3-month warranty. Warranty does not cover damage caused by customer negligence after the device is returned. If the same fault recurs within that period through no fault of your own, we sort it out.
